s500 camshaft sensors

can anyone tell me where the camshaft sensors are on my 1994 s500. and if faulty how would the car be behaving.

It should be located on the right hand front block. near the cam shaft. The car will start 50% of the time. I hear if you file down the sensor so a brass material is showing you can re-use it.
