I just purchased a 2001 S430. I am new to the car and am trying to get some help with a couple things. First of all I have two engine codes, these codes are P0173 and P0170. I know these are Fuel Trim Malfunctions (Bank 1 and Bank 2). Is theree a common problem that leads to solving these codes? I will probably check for vacuum leaks, change the fuel filter, and change the plugs, unless someone can shoot me to a more common problem.

I am also looking for a cooling fan motor. Anyone know where I can find just the motor and not the whole assembly?

Lastly, where can I get a hold of the navigation CD? I am on the west coast. Can I use a copy? Who sells them?

Hi GAS GAS GAS my Check engine turns on when i use cheap gas(am/pm)even their high octaneand dog it. never have a problem with chevron gas.. these are great car like u will find out but need a little babying im also on the westcoast cali. if u have more ? hit me up wish more peole would chat on this thing

hey just had the same code come up on my car thought it was thewires cus i had just changed the plugsbut they all measured 2k Ohms so took it to a shop and my air filters wer filthy. quick fix........he sprayed brake cleaner into the throthle maybee he would have used carb cleaner if it wascloser at hand any howwhile the car is off take of housing and applyample amount and vuala.

 

p170 , and 173 codes are for the mass air flow.

 

that is true i forgot to mention my code was p0173 and mechanic checkd for unplugd or burnd vacum line only when he foundnone did he flush the throthle
