Default have 2 key fobs 1 works 1 does not?

While trying to start my 2006 S430, the engine would just keep turning over , but never seemed like it might start. Car was warm just came back from a 100 mile trip.

Of course my wife stepped in (her car), and used her key fob and it started perfectly?

I then tried my fob, to lock/ unlock doors, open trunk, etc. and it worked fine on all these areas. The batteries in it are about a year old.

Some how I seem to remember that someone told me that these fobs only have a certain amount of starts in them?

Any suggestions, or just get a new fob from the dealer and bite the bullet for the extreme cost.

Thanks
