Default door soft close issue

The soft close feature stop working for driver door.
I have check the PSE error and I got:
B1442 "Central locking secure time too long, air capacity too high."
Reseted and the door was working fine, but after few days the pasanger door and the trunk stop working.
Reset again and the driver door is out again.
My conclusion is that is not door related but PSE timer related.
Checking around a found this type of problem at W140 and how to be "solved"
Have somebody solve this on W220?
Thanks.

I did reset by disconnecting the battery. It worked fine with the trunk, and for a brief time did solve the soft close problem of the driver side door. However, since this is most frequently use door of the car, the soft close does not work again. Is there a permanent solution to the soft close issue with the driver side door? Someone referred to a thread that discussed this issue completely in this forumas they relate to the Mercedes 140 chasis, and the S500.Would you please direct me to this thread in this forum. i am pleased to become a new member. Your advice has been invaluable. Thanks fellas!

I am a new to Mercedes Benz, but recently became the proud ower of the Mercedes Benz S500 1997 (W 140 Meredes Benz, 1997 S500). Ihave been experiencing problems with the "Closing Assist Pump"affecting the driver's door and the trunk. Where is the Closing Assist Pump located in the Mercedes Benz S500 1997?Which part of the car? Please, I need your assistance.

you do not disconnect the battery terminal, thats probably the worst advice on this issue, all you need to do is to go to the trunk, rightside panel, open the fuse box door and take out number 9 fuse and replace it after 10 seconds and the whole pump system is reset, these are temporary aid, if the symptom do appear, it can only indicate that your pump is about to go bad, if your a handyman, you can locate the pump solenoid on the rightside rear panel, go to V12uber alles website full instruction on how to adjust.

I just repaired my 140 today for this same issue..... I am hear to tell you it was relatively easy. All you need is a flathead screwdriver, a pair of needle nose pliers and patience. I was in and out in about 2 hours. This included the fine tuning to the timer to keepthe pumpat 4 seconds. My pump is now refreshed and I am a very happy camper. Check out this address for full instructions on how to do it yourself...... Good luck man. http://www.v12uberalles.com/Closing_Assist_Pump.htm

I´ve had the exact same problem, checked the vacuum pump and tested to reset it many times. Some times the pump stopped after 4 sec wich is perfect, but after a few tests it went on for over 10 sec wich make it shut of that door.
Make sure that you have accurat power in the battery. I changed battery because of the climate (Sweden) and after that I have had no problem at all, even tough the old battery was fully charged. Hopefully this will work for you.
