Comand Center -- "system unavailable"
#22
Hello all,
My 'system unavailable' issue finally got fixed. We replaced the gateway module in the trunk. I bought a comand unit on ebay and replaced it first as I was told it is the comand unit problem by second Mercedes dealer, but that didn't fix the issue. I found two mechanic through a friend and they did diagnose again and told me the audio gateway is a problem so I bought that again on ebay and got replaced. Every thing is working fine now. The mechanics fixed my car live in DC area so if anyone of you live around DC, Northern VA or MD I can give you their contact information and they can check your car.

Look @ the Amp & the Fuses for Offline System Unavailable Radio/GPS
This has happened to me twice to my 2004 CL500. Each time, my amplifier got wet and rusted in the trunk, taking my radio/ gps offline and making it unavailable. Have your amp checked and if needed, get it replaced and it should work. There may be some additional things to check like the fuses to see if they were blown, but other than that, that should be it. If the radio is receiving power, then the radio is somewhat functioning. However, it's not fully working b/c you're not receiving audio sound and it will shortly turn-off. Check out the amp and the fuses.
