Ive just signed up to this forum as I am just about to purchase my first Mercedes!

I have just put a deposit on a 2003 S350L w220. When I went to view it, I check out the boot as part of the inspection. The boot unlocked fine but didn't self open in any way. My question is... is this correct? Assuming this car doesn't have any optional extras, is the boot meant to open some of all of the way or all of the way, by its self. The soft self closer was working fine. I look forward to hearing from someone soon, with regards to this. Thanks.
