2000 S500 Airmatic issue
On my 200 S500 I push the dash switch the two red light come on the pump is heard running the car rises and the car rising symbol shows on the dash. Here is the problem the car rising symbol never goes out on the dash. When I turn off the swicth with the two red lights and the symbol goes out but hte car stays raised and does not lower as it used to do. If I push the switch again nothing happens (probably because car is already at max height).
NOrmal operation the symbol comes on then goes out when max height achieved. When switched off car lowers.
Anyone have any idea what is causing light to stay on and car not to lower?
Thanks very much.

it normally takes about 30 seconds to lower the car and there will be no notification in the dash that it is lowering. could be a bad pressure relief valve on the side of the compressor. could be a bad compressor too. you used to be able to get just the pressure relief valve itself years ago not sure if you still can. the car raising symbol should go out and you could have a leak in the system..usually the tops of the struts leak.

Yeah it takes a bit of time for the car to lower to the ground. It's something you can't control and it doesn't tell you when it's happening. (Says so in your manual) And btw, hope you're prepped to pay at least $6k to fix the airmatic system whenever it goes out around 100k miles.
