hi guys,
has anyone out there worked on a 1999 S320 and changed the Oil Filter ?
I really need to know how to get that plastic cap off, if that's what it is.
I looked at the oil change instructions and pictures at the V12 Uber Alles webiste, and it is nothing at all even similar to the S320.

you can buy at autoparts store, autozone, pepboys, advance auto i would buy to different ones so your sure you get the right one.

 

well see, what i don't know,. is , how does it come off ?
does it spin off and there is the cartridge inside., and, is there first likea locking ring or something
around the outside of the housing that you first have to unlock/remove or something ?
i don't want to break it.

if that is the oil filter housing, there is an arrow that seem to indecate you turn it clockwise to remove it. I think (but am not sure) that the filter should just pull out and the new one slides in. I think this car was designed with the common sence of that type of filter not the modern type that you have to pearce to get of and then cross thread when you put the new one on.
