Recently my kid spilledpepsi around and into the area where gear lever is located and now car will not change gears at all, also it will not engage reverse unless I turn off the car turn the key once (just turn it once not crank it) put it into the park turn it back on then move it into the reverse gear. Dashboardwas displaying"Start Error" message but that went away. Also dashboard display will not show which gear car is in just grayed out.

Any help is appreciated.

 

Have the same problem - after running through high water not changing gears at all - any idea where start to check?? any electronic scheme with all important pieces-any connectors, cables, some units?????

There's still no repair manual online???

 

pull out the shifter assembly and you can try to clean it, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. you need a new shifter assembly, that is the fix.
