Hey guys....new here obviously. I'm thinking of buying a well used 1999 ML320 from a friend/co-worker. It has about 165k on it. New tires, brakes, and he put $1,200 into it last year to get it to pass emissions (sensors and whatnot - catalytic converter was fine). The guy is a friend and he told me it has the following issues still: Console switches don't work for the windows, it has a small oil leak from the front seal (sounds like), A/C need to be recharged (not sure if this is the extent of it or if it has a leak and needs a compressor?).

Anyway, this would become my daily driver, 40 mile commute. What do I need to know about this before I buy it? I have a mechanic that I've been using for years who has become a friend....he's real fair with me and said he'd take a look at it before I buy it. What is a good price for this, assuming there's nothing catastrophically wrong with it?
