Default oil weights

Can anyone give me some feedback on what they run for oil? I own a 00 ML430 and I know what the book says. Thanks; I am just wondering if anyone has experimented with different weights and mileage.

Mobil1 0W40 European Formula Full Synthetic oil is the only oil I use in my 99 ML320.

To Add to this any weights below 15 they use a addittive that breaks down quicker. So once the weather breaks in your area go to your normal oil. Also with synthetics when you can take 15w-40 and 5w-30 put in a freezer to -20 and they pour the same?????????? I've asked that question to the oil blenders and the most resonable awnser was to meet manufactors spec's for winter time with numbers
