We just bought a 2001 ML320 with 147,000 miles in New Jersey. During our consideration period, we never noticed any warning lights on the dash whatsoever. However, the radio/cd/gps unit did not work.

The used car dealer took the ML320 to the M-B dealer in Princeton to have the radio 'reset'. While the radio problem was cured, the GPS and CD features remain dead.

After driving away with the car -and, enjoying the radio!- the two airbag warning lights suddenly came on and stayed on. Upon re-start, the dash lights go through the normal self-test cycle and go off as expected, yet the two lights come on after about three seconds.

Research on the internet points toward an infinite number of possible causes for this, including 'resetting' the radio, and none of them seem to be permanent fixes. This is disconcerting to me.

Also troubling to me is that I am not sure if the airbags and SRS are operative, or not.

Is there an easy 'fix' for this issue, or should we expect to drive the next 150,000 miles with the lights on?
