HOW DO I GO ABOUT GETTING THE BUTTONS ON MY KEY PAD TO WORK.I BELIEVE THE PERSON WHO HAD THE VEHICLE BEFORE ME RECHARGED THE BATTERY WITH THE KEY STILL IN THE IGNITION. IS THERE A WAY TO REPROGRAM THE KEY OR DO I HAVE TO BUY A NEW ONE? WHAT DO I DO, PLZ HELP

 

Ok... if you have the car owner manual, go to page 22. If you don't then try this to resincronize the locking system.

Turn the key to position 2 in the ignition lock (all lights in the dash board go on but the starting engine is not yet turning). Then turn the key to position 0 in the ignition lock and remove.

Within about 60 seconds press and hold fo few seconds the LOCK button on your remote. (it is the button you press to close all doors)

Press the UNLOCK(not the one that opens the trunk.. but the one that opens the drivers door the first time and all the others if pressed twice) button five times.

then check all functions.

try this few times with the door open and with the door closed!.

It this does not work, then you need to set an appointment with your nearest MB service shop. They need to do it connecting their computer and it takes few minutes.

Last time it happened to me, they didn't charge me anything for it. If the key blade works, it means that you have an original fob, so you don't need to buy a new key.
