as you know the 1996 g320 have the old odometer with all the little lights at the bottom of the cluster stretching all the way across. the newer 1997 and newer models have the new style cluster like the e class with the digital odometer and temperature etc... it has the warning engine lights and such on the far left and right side. well is it possible to take out the 1996 cluster and replace it with the newer 1997 cluster?

you can't.

newer cluster uses CAN
different shape
uses electronic speed sensor while your uses cable.

i still have yet to find a g320. if i get the VIN number of a g-wagpn i find i will let you know. if it is a 1996, before the new cluster, what do you think you could do by changing out the old cluster with the new one? the way it looks i am going to find a 96 probably. as you said it is not possible. i would really like to have the newer model cluster.... pleassssseeeee help me!!!!
