Default Check Engine light

I've had my 2007 450GL for almost a year now. The check engine light has come on at least six to eight times, always requiring a visit to the car shop. Is this common? It's not always the same codes. This last time I was told to change the grade of gasoline. It's quite frustrating and expensive. Any suggestions?

Do you have a list of the trouble codes? The should be on your copy of the repair order.

usually those engines have issues with the cam adjuster magnets...very very common on alot of benz's

on certain occasions depending on the codes you have the engine could have to be disassembled to fix the balance shaft gear sproket.

Default 9600$ repair bill

camshaft and the sprocket needed to be replaced 9600$ bill . my gieco warranty covered it except for 500$ why does a 07 GL with 63K miles need this work?
