Default Service Manuals

Sorry to have to ask, but I can't find an FAQ where such a question is surely addressed. I have a '98 E320 and want to get service manuals for it. Paper or CD-ROM or DVD-ROM, all will do the job. Any leads?

Thanks
Arch

I can only tell you that factory manuals are not and never will be available.

MB sells a subsription that allows you access to service information via the internet , 24 hr, 30 day, and moreI think. I have been told to use a high speed connection, because dial up really takes time. There have been no worthwhile paper manuals ince 91.</P>

Good point, but the cost is absolutely startling...

You are correct, the goverment mandated that they supply service info, they met their obligation. The price is completely out of line. The "STAR" magazine has not had the nerve to call it a hold up, or the "TEL-AID" that they install and charge $300 annually plus airtime, for service. If you dont pay you get nothing (not even in a emergency) there is no delete option. As long as it installed there should be a charge if used in an emergency.

you may want to try alldata. They have up to date information and all of the TSB's, along with the fixes, for your car. www.alldata.com . I've used them for several years now and have had great luck with the information
