Default Running on 4 Cylinders

My Girlfriends dad has a E280 Merc which has an intermittant fault where it runs on 4 cylinders.

cylinders 1 & 6 sometimes do not fire.

It is currently with a Merc Dealer at the mo.

They say that it is the ECU i can't see this personnaly i think it is far more likely to be a wire grounding or a Loose connection.

Has anybody else had this problem all help appreciated.

You didn't mention what year it is but if it's of the early to mid 90's than the wiring harness would be suspect.
