Hi everybody,

I bought a beautiful Black 190E '91, runs great butI need to fix some problems:

Wiper is too slow and the 3erd speed (quickest) do not function at all.

The motor temperature sensor was broken and I replaced it, but the temperature gauge still not work.

The seat's head rest don't work, all other movements are ok.

Aparently all instrument and warning lamps are OK, but I would check if the sensor work really, for example low fuel warning, radiator coolant warning ,brake fluid warning, etc.

I will apreciate any sugestion or info.

Thanks in advance

I had the same problem with the headrests and fixed them. Just click the post about headrests, or https://mercedesforum.com/forum_post...D=773&PN=1

As for the windshield wiper, I'm no expert but you might need to replace the control arm that comes out of the steering column. I had a problem with mine shorting out during the rain, and I had to replace the entire motor. Maybe someone else might know something more about it.

Concerning your wiper, the problemmight be that you need to let the piston (wiperarm) that moves in and out,get a little oil.

I do it like this: put the wiper on, turn off the ignition switch when the wiperarm reach one of the upper corners of the windshield. The piston is now as far out as i goes. Lift the plastic cover on the lower end of the arm. Now you can se the pistoarm and easy give i little fine oil.

This may not solve your problem, but my expierience with these singlearmwipers is that you need to do this once in a wile anyway.

[8D]Also have a 190E, 1991 2.3 AUTOMATIC.

Does anyone know how to replace the automatic gear selector light bulb?

Also, my fan switch for the a/c heater stays on high, no matter where you set it. Any ideas?

Thank you very much for your help.
