What happened?

Hi everyone, I have to ask because I am worried that something is not right. I just bought a few months ago a 2006 E350 70K miles and love it until last night and now I am worried. I pulled out of a driveway and punched it (First time ever) as the road was clear…. The tack hit about 55K and the car only made it to about 35MPH within about a half a block. I took my foot off the accelerator and let it coast off to the side of the road and stopped. I then started to go again the tack hit 60K and the car only moved to about 30mph with the engine racing like crazy. I stopped again and put it in neutral and then back into drive and all was good. I know it is not a RACE CAR but wow it should not do this. Starting from a stop with a normal type of takeoff (not punching it) everything is smooth and no problems. Also on the highway to pass it is nice and smooth when stepping down on the gas pedal. So what happened?
