Gearbox of E270 CDI W211
Hi,
I own mercedes E270 cdi 2003 model though the actual date of manufacture is on the 7th month of 2002. About a month ago I started hearing some juddering sounds from the back of the car and i took it to the brand service immediately and then they said there was nothing wrong but to be safe they suggested the gearbox oil change and it was done. Afterward, there was still no change and few days later the gerabox suddenly went to neutral when i was driving about 80km/hr. And then i stopped the car immediately got it towed and took it to the service center again. They said the radiator leaked the fluid to the gearbox and told me that i need a new radiator and pipes connecting it to the gearbox. As said i changed all parts needed and another flash of the gearbox oil was done as well. It cost me close to 1500euros. And then hoped for a better ride after that but a day later the gearbox again went to neutral when the car was at a speed of 60km/hr. And then i took it back again then they said they can not find any errors in the gerabox from the on board computer but suggested that complete change of the gearbox is the only way to safety. The price quote i got for this was pretty crazy amounting to 7000euros! I desperately need some suggestions from anyone who has experienced similar issues? Am feeling so hopeless someone suggested me that a reconditioned gearbox can be found from Germany for about 2500euros but should i count on that? hope to get some ideas
