Default Fan Clutch Bearing Bracket

At 307,000 miles on the odometer my Fan Clutch Bearing Bracket on my 1989 300E decides to give up. Any tips on changing out that critter?

Very common part -- while you're in there take a good look at the fan clutch, water pump and belt tensioner, as those are equally popular.

Go to this sitehttp://www.buymbparts.com/ for the best price on the parts you need and if you call ask for Rusty. He can get you anything you need for your benz.

fan bracket cost about $125. U need a X allen key put in center of the fan remove the fan. Then loose up the srew to remove the belt, there are 3,

1)one access by the front, near the servo power steering liquid can,

2)he other is right from the top where to adjust the timing.

3) the sock absorber

Then with the X allen key remove the bracket (4 screws). The change is simple but hard to put back the belt !

I found that u need to change the wheel on the bracket to avoid squeek.

Just did on mine.
