Hi guys,

I have a '96 E200 (non-komprssor model).

I was using the car as normal, went to work no issues, when i came out at lunchtime, my key fob would not work, so i pressed the button really hard and the locks/doors opened.

i have the flip-out key



when i switched off the car and closed the door and pressed the key fob, the doors wouldnt close, infact the key fob didnt seem to be doing anything!

called the roadside recovery guys and they couldnt figure out what the problem was.

could anyone help guys?

what do the leds on mirror do when you lock unlock if they flash together then key batteries need renewal. if not do you have spare key? you can also attempt to recode key by pointing at mirror for 10 seconds then putting ignition in position 2 repeat until green led in mirror flashes hope this helps u

 

the other key works well?

 

i cant unlock/lock the car with the keyfob even though the red light still comes on in the IR part of the keyfob. when i do try and start the car the mirror flashes green red, green red alternatively - hence i think the immobiliser has kicked in.

i dont have a spare key im afraid.

what do you think???? how do you recode the key, will this work??
