Hi, I'm not an expert but your car should be equipped with second backup battery and maybe that was the reason to trigger your battery warning light. The light reset procedure after battery replacement should be in your owner's manual. Good luck.

Normaly when the battery light comes on it is for the Aux Battery. This is the backup for your SBC Brakes. It is located under the hood, right side by the windsheld. It is under the dust filter housing. It looks like a motorcycle battery only cost as much as a bigger battery. Good Luck!

For a E 500 [2003] car. How to place the electrical consumer switch in on position?

usually after replacing the sbc brake backup battery, almost like the motorbike battery size, it should be back to normal operations...

if it still persist, you have no choice but have a visit to the nearest mb garage / workshop
