Thumbs down 2008 Mercedes E350 Service & Warranty

Purchased 2008 E350 last April with 35k miles. Service due past 5 days now with 45k miles. Checked the price @ the dealer $380 plus tax. Is this a rip off ? Or can I get my service done elsewhere bit cheaper ?

My original car warranty expires in June 2013. I purchased extended warranty until 2015 June or 135k for $2000. So far the car runs great with no problems. Deadline to cancel my extended warranty is April 30, 2012. Should I keep it or cancel it ?

Also if I don't get the service from the dealer does ir nullify the warranty? Please advice.

taking your car out to an indy. to get service work done does not void your warranty. yes it is cheaper to get it done else where. how ever lets say you take your car to pep boys to get your oil changed there is about a .0000000001% chance of them knowing how to reset your service light. plus you really have to worry about how much do these people really know about the latest technology. when you bring your car to a dealer they also do anywarrany work that needs to be done as well. you pay more at a dealer yes how ever the dealer has more liability. there are some really good tech that work at the dealers. so keep that in mind

as far as a extended warranty yes by all means buy it. mercedes benz parts are really expensive and sometimes one trip to the dealer will pay for that warranty

I just bot an E350; after pricing some of the typical repairs job I bot the extended warranty.

Buying quality only hurts once.
