2008 E350, COMAND, bluetooth won't disconnect
I am hoping there is a solution that Google and my Local MB dealer could not provide. I have successfully installed a bluetooth in a 2008 E350 with Nav and COMAND, succesfully paired it with a phone, and everything works. The problem is that it won't stop working. When the car is turned off, the bluetooth stays on and paired until the link is actively broken by disabling bluetooth on the phone or moving out of range. Furthermore, simply opening the car door causes the bluetooth unit to wake up and re-pair if the phone is in range, no key or starting the engine required.
So I come home, park in the garage, and forget to disable bluetooth on the phone. The E350 keeps control of my phone. Later on, I notice that the phone is still paired, and I turn off bluetooth, break the link, then turn bluetooth back on so it will be ready next time or to use another device. My wife goes into the car to get something afterwards, and the car takes over my phone again.
The user manuals say that the bluetooth will only pair when the key is on, and this is patently false. My local dealer confirmed that the only way to break the bluetooth conncection is to move out of range or turn bluetooth off from the phone.
So, is there a solution, other than doing what my local dealer suggested, which was buy a new 2010 model? If there is no solution, then MB really missed the mark with bluetooth in the E350.

No. But my iPhone has a pop up that let's me manually select the audio. If I don't hear anything after answering, I check to make sure my audio is the iPhone and not MB. Klutzy, but it only takes a second once I realize it.
