I have a 96 E320 only 77000 miles, only on cold starts the transmission will shift into 1st and 2nd gear ok but will stall going into 3rd at about 20 mph at 2000 rpms then will lurch into 3rd gear, once the engine is warm the transmission will shift as if nothing is wrong.

 

I have an e320. 1996 with 165000 KM, recently it start having a problem reversing up hills or even up slight inclines, mechanic saying the clutch is bad any ideas
