2002 CLK Cabriolet roof/headrests stuck
Hi, can anyone help??
I have a 2002 CLK 200 Elegance Cabriolet. After loaning the car out it came back with the roof stuck down and the rear headrests stuck in the raised position.
I'm presuming they raised automatically as part of the roll bar saftey system but they will not lower. I've tried re-setting as the manuel suggests and can hear a clicking noise when the switch is pressed but they won't budge.
The roof also will not raise but I'm guessing this is because of the head rests?
I'm currently working abroad and having to use a friends garage to keep the car secure and dry, so any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

4/17/17. Driving my 2005 CLK320 .. with the top down.. I hit a speed bump... the rear head rests popped up... hazard lights came on... later... the top would not raise.. found some hints on the Internet.. this is what I did... on the drivers side of the rear headrests.. with the aid of a flashlight.. I took a small round 6-8" rod... inserted it in the space between the headrest & rear seat... there is a small hole in the (unseen) bracket. the rod must insert into the small hole... then push down, then push the headrest down & hold down.. lift the rod... bingo the headrests lock back into the down position. the secret is to find the small hole for the rod to be inserted into.
