I have an Issue with my Key Fob where it will not lock unlock the car unless Iam within 2 feet of it, and I have to keep pressing the button and put it real close to the car for it to open, its the same with all buttons, and its very annoying.

I changed the batteries and it still has the same issue.

Any ideas what could be wrong? Bad Receiver?

Any help is appreciated.

hey, I've had my clk500 for 2 years and didn't realize that you didn't have to stand at the door to use the fob...until recently. The remote works on IR and RF signals, the IR is the little square on the drivers door handle, which I used all the time before, now I fixed it by pulling and reinserting all the fuses that are related to the door locks 5 all together one in the engine area two in the dash and two in the trunk. I don't actually know which one did the trick though.
after that I can stand around 50' from the car and see the lights blink.

i know for the fact if you keep your remote key next to mobile phone at all the time while using it, it can affect the working range of remote control.........
perhaps its something to do with radiation?????

 

does anyone knows how to program remote controls plips, do you require diagnostic equpiment or CAN it be done manually without it???
