Default Auto Tranny PRob

Hi i am a DIY mechanic,
ive got a 2001 a160 petrol elangance which has now come up with a fault code : Shift Solenoid Valve y3/y4

Can somebody shed some light onto whats needed to fix this?and how much roughly?

Regarding the car it drives but does not go into another gear and just stays in 1st gear! oh and if i erase the code it drives perfectly but then comes back after a while.

Thankyou in advance. All help is appreciated

if its a benz trans 5 speed automatic 722.6...drain fluid. remove pan remove trans electrical connector, then remove valve body, remove shift valves,,lay them down in order so you put them back in the correct place. remove electrical plate. install new plate install valves. make sure the electrical plate is fully seated onto valve body!! clips in in 2 or 3 spots. install valve body install new tranny fluid filter. install pan and new gasket. make sure you have the dipstick to check fluid level. i dont know anything about the A class if theres a dipstick or not.
