Default 2000 A140 spitting oil from vent. hose!

Hi,
A friend of mine got an identical car like my wife - an A140. One day in the winter (about -5deg.C) she ran at the highway in about 100km/h. Suddently a little "bump" sound appear, but she continue driving. Then after a few minutes the oil warning lamp lit on, and another few second later the engine totally crash! Later on, at the garage, they said that the engine had a blocked vent. hose (blocked with ice/slug condense), and that when this occure, it will "spit" out all the engine oil at once. She should of course have stopped the engine immedently, but.. women.
-It is said that thishappen too small engines only, that only run short distanse in the winter...

I'm a little bit concerned, because my wife has an identical car, and at last routine control, the mechanics said that: "you got some condese in the carburator intake".
Anything I can do to prevent a engine crash? -I'm afraid that my wife will continue too drive too - even if the oil warning will start to glow!

-Afraid husband!

condensation can't happen when the engine is running since the temperature around the engine area can be above freezing point.

there must be another reason.

Thanx for answer. I'll "testdrive" it with "engine flush" (some kinda stuff you put in the oil, right?) before next oilchange...

My A140 suffer really now. It started for 6months ago to have "valve knock" sound. I gave the car to the MB workshop and they replaced the "valve hammers" without any good result. Fortunately I didn't had to pay for it... I been driving the car for another +6months, and the "knock" sound has not became worse. They said that the engine had a problem in the rod -"or something". But in that matter I know that if its "rod knock" it will became worse very fast (but it has not). Can it be something else? Like default main bearings?

My dealer said that it only needs an oil change every 13,000 miles. Is that really true?
