My 02 C320 sedan trunk can't open with remote or switch on door, I can hear the motor spinning but it doesn't pop to open the trunk. Does anyone know where to get a solenoid or actuator for the trunk motor?

Hi I have had the same problem with my C230. It can happen if something is trapped in the mechanism, eg plastic bag. Press down firmly on boot lid, if you hear a click the boot should then open with remote button. Worth trying before you shell out money.

 

thanks for the reply, I am not sure what boot lid you referred to, I was able to open with the smart key and the handle on the trunk. When I hold the trunk release on the remote I can hear the motor spinning but it doesn't make the click sound to pop the trunk open. Thanks

 

Sorry, boot means trunk in the UK. Press down hard to make sure it is closed fully then try again.
