While accelerating at a slow to medium pace, the transmission changes gears roughly. It's not a smooth trasnsition from one gear to the next. Is this something that is common with the 96 c280?

 

check the control cable adjustment link with the accelerator.
check oil level.
check modulating pressure.
check the vacuum hose to the modulator.

 

Thanks for taking the time to answer all of my questions. But, I'm not as fluent with the lingo. oil level is fine but I'm not sure how to check any of the other items.


If I could get clarification on this it would be much appreciated. It looks like it might help several others too, since this topic has had over 20 hits since yesterday. thanks
