Default Worst car I've ever driven in the snow!

My C180 is the worst car I've ever driven in the snow. Even on level ground, any snow or ice renders it like Bambi. My wife's Fiesta is more sure footed!

Is it worth buying snow tyres - does it make any difference at all? Any suggestions to make the thing more driveable would be gratefully received.

I'm starting to look at Cayennes.... at least they work in the snow.

You know, somehow I had hoped for a more sensible reply than
"Learn to drive safely and you won't need them." Particularly from a 'Super Moderator.'

Thanks for the other two replies. I will look into snow tyres.

Drove a 04 C230 coupe for 3 years and have a 97 C280 for >10 yrs. Without snow tires, these cars will not go anywhere in the snow. With snows tires at all corner, they can beat some 4WD at a red light.

With rear wheels drive, we need good traction on the rear tires. Start very slow, let the wheels rolling first before apply just a bit of power, these cars will get us home. To beat a SUV in snow, at stop light, just pump on the gas and enjoy the rear spin, it is probably a Pinto SUV.

Carry some ballast in the boot when driving in snow.

My car is on summer tyres...(front wheel drive just now).

No bother at all but have thought of all weather tyres next time.
