Metallic rattle @ 2,5K rpm 1995 C 180 Automatic
Hi, I own a 1995 C 180 Automatic.
The car is in mint condition inside out, however, I am woried with some sort of a metallic rattle @ 2,5K rpm. This is especially audible if I accelerate quickly, nevertheless it not exclusively occurs in such cases, as also if I drive it gently at exactly 2,5 mark I hear noises.
Once it goes beyond 2,5K mark, the noise dissapears. Is it the gearbox? If it was, then it'd also appear in other revs, wouldn't it? Any advise / tips are more than welcome!!!

Hi hitec, The noise you hear is nothing to be worried about. I have a 94 C220, usually the noise is heard when the car is in 4th gear at lower speeds. (assuming this is the 4 speed auto) It is nothing to be worried about, you could call it a 'character' of the C-class of the era.
