Default 2006 c230

I bought mine used with 30k on it, so don't know much about previous than that. I currently have 76k on it and have just had the front breaks changed. the only other thing is at about 35k the blower went out, still under warranty. they also changed the cup holder out due to the chrome coming off, also under warranty. Other than that its just been the regularly scheduled maint. Great car so far.

I'm glad no one ever asks me about my new 09 C300, because I wouldn't have much good to say about it.

Unfortunately, it's possible to get a bad example of any car. What differs are the odds of this. We still see no indication that the new C-Class is as troublesome as, say, the GL-Class.

If you sign up to participate, we'll ask you about it

Our main survey doesn't ask about old repairs, though, to avoid distorting the results. You'd be reporting on July 2009 and up.

Additional participants remain needed, for all model years 1995 and up.

390 C-Class owners now signed up. A very good start, but more are needed to provide full results for all model years.

We have updated results for the C-Class to include owner experiences through June 2009. In terms of successful repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2008: 51, about average, very good sample size

2006: 37, better than average, but very small sample size; actual repair frequency probably about average

2005: 82, about average, marginal sample size

Everyone who has been helping, I certainly appreciate it. We'll have further updates in November and February. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years.

Updated results again later this month.

We're going to start providing new stats for the odds of requiring no repairs and the odds of getting a lemon. These require larger sample sizes, so additional participants would be helpful.

For the details, and to sign up:

We have updated results for the C-Class to include owner experiences through September 30, 2009. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2009: 45, about average, close to "better than average"

2008: 40, better than average

2006: 43, better than average, but small sample size

2005: 106, about average

203: 203, worse than average, but small sample size

Starting with the 2006 the reliability of the C-Class seems to be considerably better than many people expect.

Everyone who has been helping, I certainly appreciate it. We'll have further updates in February and May. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years.
