hahaha, same here. I usually replace parts myself and just ask a help from my friend whenever I need a part to be replaced on my old c230.

try to google for online parts store. I suggest you should shop on those sites that Ive come across with and been satisfied with their products. try: www.benzbin.com or better, www.mbpartswarehouse.com (good customer service) and www.mercedesshop.com (good customer service/technical info).

it's for your own exploration. as said last time, I can hardly suggest eBay. most of the sellers there are fakers, selling inferior parts that doesn't suffice the price and swindling money.

Disconnect the existing wires to the horn. make direct connection from the battery. If the horn does not sound, then it needs to be replaced.
If it sounds, then check the horn relay for fault.

Replacement is real easy.
Just remove the old busted up horn.

take it to Pep Boys, Autozone, Discount Auto Parts or any other after market dealer and they will replace it.

Get a good reliable one with high decibels.

It really is that easy.

Remove wires from back of horn
Unbolt horn
Go shopping for a new horn

Replacing it;
hook wires up to new horn FIRST
TEST the new horn
See if it blows
If it works, then disconnect wires from new horn
Install new horn
Reconnect wires
Pat yourself on your back for a job well done

Default Mercedes c220

Hullo all just want to thank the users for assisting me with the removal of the aircon fan and condenser, it is obvious that the condenser/regulator needs replacing as it is very corroded. This is due mostly because the unit is situated under the vent area which gets blocked by leaves etc and then rain leaks into the car over the aircon unit, stupid place to put it. Thank you also for indicating the position of the hooter/horn, which I have also replaced. Great to be able to google anything like this especially when you are a woman and you want to get things done yourself.
