DANGER! C240 switched off while driving
My C240 Feb 2001 switched itself off while I was driving. Not exactly what you want your car to do while overtaking and on the other side of the road! Turned out it was the sensor to the oil in the sump. Seems like someone at Merc decided that if this fails it will cause damage to the car so why not simply switch off the ECU and the engine! Now is that what I really want to happen... Personally I would prefer a malfunction warning to be sent to the display and maybe next time I try to start the car it does not start and displays the malfunction code. Safer than switchng off all power whilst driving!
