Hi everyone I have a problem with a freinds 1996 c250 d. When I had a look at it the car would not start, no fuel was getting to the injectors, a fault code reader says drive authorisation signal not recieved, and communication between immobiliser and ecu 'not ok'. I have found what I think is the IFZ(is that correct?), underneath the false floor in front of the passengers feet (RHD car). I have disconnected it for an hour on someone elses advice but the problem is still there. The IR key is new and has new batteries and has been synchronised to the car, but can somebody confirm the procedure so I know I have done it correctly. There is a single flash from the key when the button is held down but will not lock or unlock the car. Neither the red or green lights on the interior mirror or door handle come on or flash. I have checked all the fuses that I can see under the bonnet and near the battery in the rear. The owner has booked it in to the dealer in two days time but would love to repair it for him before this, as he is eager not to pay dealer prices.
