Default Buying a 2000 model C280 sport...what I should look for?

Guys,

I am new here.... so thanks in advance for any input.

I came acress a year 2000 C280 last night at one of the local dealer lots, and it looks exactly what I have been searching for. They asking for $13000, and it has a 80K miles on it. I did some research on my own, and the history is clean, and it used to be a CPO too. Now.... this is a first time I buy used car in such a high milage, and it really make me un-easy about it... is there anything I should look out for? Is it a good car in general? And commen major problem? Do I need to do a compression test on it? The inspection is expensive for 3rd party. Local price is about $350 including compression test and plugs replacement. How mcuh you guy pay? Plus..... do I need the compression test at all in this ago of the car? Please help....

Thanks a lot!!!

ac

I have never owned a car with less than 92k miles. So too me its damn low miles. Offer them 11k. And yeah the C280 is a good car.

You can always negotiate with the dealer. Counter offer them!

Heay, thanks guys....

I check out the car for the first time right after work. I don't have a change to spin it since it was late; but I did get the key from the dealer, and started the car. Everything looks and sounds good. One small thing... the back light of the LCD see a bit off - like one of the 4 digits get dim down... anyway to fix it? It is not a big deal since I can still read it...

I plan to revisit again in 2 days, and bring it to the shop to check up.... it going to get costly.... wish me luck.

Once again, thanks for the input.
