Default 1998 C200 Sport ABS and BAS/ASR Lights on all the time

I have a 1998 C200 Sport and recently been having problems with the ABS & BAS/ASR warning light coming on. The ABS does not work (Tested in the wet). Cruise control still works fine however.

Any suggestions?

This problem has only become present after jump starting another car.

ABS has come a long way since they wee first offered, you should feel little or not vibration like the old systems had, How are they not working? If the warming lights are coming on and staying on after the engine is started, there could be a number of problems, from something simple like a sensor, to the ABS control or the BAS/ASR sensor or the ABS controller, or a CPU problem. Try disconnecting the battery on the negative post for 30 minutes. This will reset the CPU. If the problem is still there, then go to the dealer as these are safety issues.

Tried taking the negative off the battery as suggested, but no joy the ABS light is still on. It also proved to be a problem, I couldn't get back into the boot after shutting it, spent best part of three hours trying to get in as the manual lock did not work!!!

Had the breaks checked at a non MB dealer and they could find nothing wrong other than the ABS did not work, which is what the light is telling me. Looks like it's a trip to a MB dealer unless anyone has anyother ideas.

Yes, that is the best advice you gotten, go to a dealer. If your really lucking it might be a sensor, which run about $60 each plus install.
