Default 2016 S63 AMG Coupe - tires gripping too much and makes noise in front?

Just took delivery of a 2016 S63 Coupe, used w/ 4000mi. This is my first mercedes...
strangest thing, when you do slow full steering wheel turns, like backing out of a driveway, it will make the wildest noise/feeling. It almost sounds like a diff issue. The whole front of the car kind of makes a hard/loud noticeable noise (granted it's not metal sounding) and the whole car will kind of skip. I took it to my local dealer who at first mention of this said this was normal in cold weather. Then one of the sales guys happened to drive it and said "well, that doesn't seem normal" so we had the main tech take it for a drive and he felt/heard the whole thing too - He got out of the car and watched me do a slow wheel to wheel turn and he can see the tires 'grip' and then almost release basically having the whole car kind of scoot over an inch... almost like the tires are gripping the rode too much. Granted, it's 25 degrees here, but still?? they then called mercedes and mercedes said "normal, put 'winter' tires on it" - just seems pretty wild to me... Anyone else experience this?

Thanks
