Two days ago we purchased a 1988 300E with a little over 100,000 miles. All forward gears work perfectly but when you put it into reverse, it just sits there. If you put your foot on the brake, push your foot on the accelerater to bring up RPM's, it will go into reverse and work perfectly. Is there anything controlling the vacuum or pressure to the transmission that could be causing this problem?
