Default My 1971 Mercedes B250 6 cyl in-line

Hi Guys,
This 2dr, 6 cylinder coupe is set up with Twin 4 bbl carbs
I think they're Webers
We've cleaned the carbs, installed new plugs, new wires, points, and coil, and cleaned the gas tank, -but when it starts it's running rough.

After running for less than 20 minutes, it get rough then stalls out.
We checked everything and..our new points are burned already.
We replaced them and it happened again !
My Mercedes guru ( he has 4 M-B's, and does his own work & mine), says we should go with a new Electronic Ignition system.
Q: what do you believe is the problem right now ?
Q: will the Electronic ignition solve the problem ?
Any help is very much appreciated.
Thanks,
trueman

Do you have a condenser in the distributor .If its burning the points that wants replacing. If you go for electronic distributor it will solve your problem
