Default Leather or Vinyl Seats

How do I tell what I have? Seriously, I can't tell. If it's leather it's not a very good grade since it's stiff. I would expect a soft leather in an SL.

The leather is sort of stiff; leather will feel warmer than vinyl and will have less uniform grain. If it's original in an SL, it's leather. There are some quality vinyl replacement covers, though.

Thanks for the info.

My seat covers don't need to be replaced. I was just curious about the material. The seats aresurprisingly comfortable for how stiffthe leather is. I had a T-bird with leather this stiff and the seats killed my hip bones on long trips. I was afraid the SL would do the same, but I was wrong (as usual).

I dont think any Mercs have vinyl. At least not modern ones. I've never liked the leather in Mercs much, its always been very vinyl like, esspecially the older models.

MB-Tex vinyl is the Mercedes vinyl. It all depends on the year, make and model of your Mercedes if it has vinyl or leather. Both materials are the best leathers and vinyls you will find in the automotive industry. I should know because my family owns Nacho's Auto Upholstery and Covertible Tops Online. My family has been in the Auto Upholstery business for over 40 years. So leather and vinyls are our business. Tell me the year, make and model of your MBZ and I can tell you what you got on your seats.

Thanks

Your chassis is really not very interesting

But concerning comfort and long trips I can recommend the new SL which has in the AMG version even a massage (leather) seat. You can switch on a 'pulse' button and you get your back massage during the ride. That's real innovation
