hey guys,

i have a 01 CLK430 and the SRS light is on all the time..is there any diagnosis i can do without going to the stealer?
any reset procedure out there?
i've tried turning the steering wheel all the way to the left, then all the way to the right , then to the center (for some sort of calibration) but the light still stays on...

any help is appreciated...

You need to be able to communicate with the SRS module in order to clear the light and understand what is wrong.
Unless you have or know somebody with an (expensive) scanner that can read and set BODY codes you will need to take it to the dealer (who will need STAR or similar diagnostics.)
Turning the steering wheel resets the steering sensor which is not used by the SRS.
SRS is there for your safety. Something must be wrong that needs to be corrected otherwise an ignition reset would have cleared the problem.
