Default Is it safe to buy a manufacturer buyback car??

Hi guys,

I was looking at a used 2006 Mercedes E55 and noticed that it is a manufacture buy-back car. What exactly is a manufacture buy-back car and is it worth the risk of purchasing it? The car only has 22,000 miles on it and is still under warranty the seller says. Please fill me in.

Thanks in advance!

These are often Lemon Law cars and if it is one of them, it was such a pain in the *** for the previous owner that the factory had to buy it back in order to avoid tangling with the attorney general. Sounds like BAD automotive karma there.

The W211 is what you are looking at are know for many problems as you will find out by reading post on this site. I would either recomend a new 08 or newer(waitinguntill the 09)under warrenty or a W210 2002 E Class. The W210 E Class is built better and has far far less common problems. Also they make an AMG model for that year.
