Orange picture of engine on dashboard????

Default Orange picture of engine on dashboard????
Hi
i recently brought a mercedes clk200 kompressor (2000), and when driving it a orange picture of a engine came up as a warning!!! But there are no malfunctions recognised!! Any ideas of what this could be?? or what could have caused it?? Would be appreciated any help!!!

That would be the "check engine" light.
Anything from a loose gas cap to some obscure sensor.
