Good morning all!!!!

I am straying from my love for the diesels a bit because I found a 1974 SL in my local junk yard.. I know.. relish the thought!!!!!!!

The car is complete looking, including the hard top!!!! Engine is free, and supposedly ran less then two years ago. I would say the body is 85% solid. I can have it for less then 400.00!!!!!

Now the bad news....

Sadly this car has NO title. I know that I can obtain one through a friend in Pennsylvania using a title company. The veh is definitely grey market, and has an odd ball VIN, which I retrieved from the Temp tag in the trunk having come up from Florida in 2004

Niether the yard owner nor myself have been able to find the vin number tag on this car. Every Benz I have owend has the tag on the drivers side windshield post. Not this one. Does anyone know where to find the VIN tag on this car.

It also says 500 SL on the back deck.. I dont think the 500 was in production in 1974. Perhaps it was abroad?

there's one on the plate on radiator cross member.
or under the passenger seat on strengthening member.
from inside the trunk, sticking either on the speaker cover panel or the metal frame.
