83' 300d overheating

83' 300d overheating
Did my car ingest air ? The cap was loose on the expansion tank and driven. Coolant /water boiled out. Left to cool for 3hrs. Did air enter the cooling system when cap was loose as it cooled? If so, how do I get rid of it? . Car is running 15 degrees C hotter than usual.
