Hi,

My daughter has an '02 C240 with the 3.2l V-6 and automatic transmission. She said that it wouldn't shift out of first. So I went to check the fluid level. HAHA, very funny, Mercedes. Deny us even the ability to check our fluids. Anyway I suspected that, at 235,000 miles, it was overdue for a filter change.

So I got the parts and fluid and replaced them. I didn't fully drain the system, because I've had the fun of having an airlocked pump before. The fluid looked better than I expected it to, but there wasn't nearly enough of it, from the looks. There were a couple of loose bolts causing a leak, and the fluid had been leaking from a banjo fitting on the right side as well.

Now after I have tightened everything back up and added the recommended amount of fluid (can't remember the number, bad short term memory), It won't engage in any gear.
I would greatly appreciate any suggestions as to what could be the problem.
